Getting rid of excessive weight

While excessive weight loss is usually dealt with from the aesthetic point of view, obesity is a disease in which body fact accumulated inside the tissues can actually have negative impact on health and even reduce the person’s life expectancy. All the excess food we consume, because of poor eating culture or other reasons, is stored in the bodies if we overeat regularly. In some cases exercising and sticking to a healthier diet can be sufficient, while in other cases, when the condition of the patient is complicated because of other diseases (type 2 diabetes, for instance) special anti-obesity drugs can be prescribed. The most famous brand names include Zimulti and Acomplia, both have the same active ingredient – rimonabant. Whether the person has abnormal weight and needs treatment with these drugs can be defined by calculating the BMI – body mass index achieved by dividing the mass of the person by the square of their height (expressed in kilos and centimeters).
